Beeja Teaching Bharatanatyam and bharatanatyam classes at the place

Beeja runs regular bharatantyam classes for children and adults. The classes for beginners build a foundation of good technique e.g. basic steps, hand gestures and rhythmic patterns. The intermediate dance classes focus on technical detail and learning repertoire. Pilates and yoga are incorporatedinto the classes to develop core strength, good alignment and safe dance practice. Students are encouraged to take the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) exam.

The classes for adults are held at the Place, Euston.

Bharatanatyam classes for adults

The Place, Duke's Road, Euston

Technique, Friday, 6.30-7.30pm

Suitable for complete beginners and those with some experience. The classes build a foundation of basic technique. Pilates and yoga exercises are incorporated into the warm-up. Innovative use of visualisation teaches dancers to draw on thought and emotion to enhance physical movement.

Technique and Repertoire, Friday 6.30-8.30pm

Suitable for those with around 4-5 years experience in Bharatanatyam. Intermediate dancers attend the technique class for a warm up and focus on technical detail. The second hour is a high-energy repertoire based class.

For those upto 10 years and who are new to Bharatanatyam

Swiss Cottage Community Centre, Monday 5.30-6.30pm

For students learning repertoire.

Nupur Arts, Leicester, Saturday 11am-2pm

Classes are organised by Nupur Arts.

Beeja also runs private one-to-one classes for children. These are conducted by Beeja appointed teachers.
