Beeja pilates and body conditioning

Beeja offers workshops and 1to1 sessions in Pilates and Yoga. These are tailored to suit specific dance styles and dance bodies or can be general sessions to improve physical and mental well being.

In Pilates the primary focus is to strenthen core stability of the body by focussing on posture and alignment. The excercises focus on deep abdominal muscles, pelvic floor and breath. Practising pilates regularly can help reduce injuries and prolong a healthy dance career. Pilates is equally useful for non-dancers as it improves body alignment and reduces stress and pain, specially in the back.

Yoga combines breathing, flexibility and spiritual well being. There are many different schools of yoga, e.g. Shivananda, Iyengar and Astanga. All these are very benificial to the physical and emotional well being of the practitioner.

Beeja's teachers have formal qualifications and many years of experience to teach these body+mind conditioning forms.
